Craftsmanship & Tuning
Every Zaphir chime is handmade at Atelier Zaphir. Each instrument has eight metal cords of different lengths, welded with silver into a metal ring and carefully tuned so the interaction of tones and overtones flows into a continuous stream of harmonies. The resonance tube is proportioned according to the Golden Ratio, and made from thin crushed and pressed layers of long-fiber cellulose board — creating the warm timbre and crystalline sound Zaphir chimes are known for.
