Craftsmanship & Tuning
Every Zaphir chime is handmade at Atelier Zaphir in the French Pyrenees. Each instrument has eight metal cords of different lengths, welded with silver into a metal ring and carefully tuned so the interaction of tones and overtones flows into a continuous stream of harmonies. The resonance tube is proportioned according to the Golden Ratio, and made from thin crushed and pressed layers of long-fiber cellulose board — creating the warm timbre and crystalline sound Zaphir chimes are known for.

Zaphir chimes are shorter than Koshi chimes. They are easy to play, several or individual notes. Look and sound beautiful. The audio samples in the description are accurate. Look delicate and have premium feel. My package arrived from Germany within two weeks. Glad I bought them during discount period.

They took some untangling on arrival. Take off the bottom disc, and using tweezers carefully unravel from the interior put disc back on and they’re back to normal. Easy Peasy.
The chimes are great but I waited over 3 weeks for them to be delivered. I was the one that had to chase the delivery too. I could have at least been emailed out of courtesy but I was the one that had to chase. . .
Bought for myself but quickly gave them all away to special folk in my life. I wanted to share thinking I would replace them. The final one was to my 10 year old grandchild who loved it through a sickness as she could ring it from her bed. Love them.

I do love these - they sound as gorgeous as the various recordings available on YouTube, and are not so loud that I am sharing them with suburban neighbours. The string & clapper gets looped during transit. It is a bit tricky to unwind from the metal chords. I found that reverse tweezers & patience worked well to free the string.
