This can happen during packaging.
The Koshis are handmade with high precision and tuned by hand.
When packed into the white Koshi gift box sometimes the metal hook is turned when closing the lid of the box.
You can see the little bamboo stick where the string is attached.
Just turn the stick in any direction so the cord is hanging straight again.

No worries, the golden pins that hold the bamboo stick are really just pins, these are not screws.
